Default Pics of Alltrax controller mounted in EZGO

I was just curious if anyone has mounted their controllers in an alternate location to stock? If anyone has and cares to share pics, it would be much appreciated. The Alltrax SPM controller is kind of nice to look at, it seems like a shame to hide it in the stock location

Thanks

I've seen them mounted vertically and horizontally. The only caution I would offer is to make sure you have adequate clearance between motor and controller/solenoid. In order to get sufficient clearance with 4 people (driver + 3 passengers) on bumps, I raised mine above the supports using jam nuts on the controller and washers on the solenoid.

Does your SPM have a cooling fan? If so, it may be exposed to more dirt/dust mounted in back than under the seat.

YES it does.....which is why I left mine in the stock location.

I have no real proof that one place is dustier than another, but I figured in back, you're closer to the tires. There's also a much larger open area than under the seat, where batteries and the tray where the controller is mounted leaves a much smaller open area for dust to enter.

I drive mainly on road, but around the lake it's 57 stone, which has a lot of granite dust. The batteries get covered in it, and need frequent washing.

Where would one mount it if not under the seat? I guess your somewhat restricted unless I lengthen the cables

OR have a custom set made so that once you decide exactly where you want to place it....measure each cable, and have scottyb (cartsunlimited.net) make you a set to meet your needs. that would be the cleanest set up, IMHO anyway.
