KEEP IT!!!! stupid cheap on price, and its a 4 stroke, mine runs like a champ and i wouldnt trade it for the world, its faster then my brothers 05 workhorse, still same size, i can pull a boat with it, trail it threw woods with out much issue, it useles little to no gas. just keep it clean and change oil regularly , and have fun with her!
lift kit was 80 bucks on ebay. tires and wheels was 300 off ebay. rest was paint by myself , my cart started close to yours enjoy it man you got a good deal! |

Chrisp6108 that thing looks awesome!! How did you install your hitch? If it can pull a boat it's a keeper for sure.

Re: Marathon GX444 first cart, should I keep it?
There's a metal rear frame rail under the bagwell, most people cut a piece of 1/4X1.5" steel and weld a tongue to it in the middle (like a "T") or better yet, a square-tube receiver - then drill up through that rail as well as the bar, and mount that hitch! As long as You don't get too crazy with tongue weight, you'd be AMAZED what these carts can pull

Re: Marathon GX444 first cart, should I keep it?
brew city is exactly right, it was like that when i got it, but thats what the owner did, welded on a bolt on hitch adapater. and i use it to pull around a 14ft trailer, a 14ft john boat, and a 19ft runabout open bow boat. they wont go super fast pulling a boat but if you need to move it around the property and what not, im not affraid to hook things to it and let her eat.
good motor and drivetrain, shes a beast! |

Re: Marathon GX444 first cart, should I keep it?
Is she all stock motor wise? Are there any quirks I need to look out for as far as the drivetrain?

Re: Marathon GX444 first cart, should I keep it?
ive owned it for 2 years and yes, 100% stock, i still havnt even changed the oil in this cart yet, and i know...... i need to its on my list to do.
quirks of this cart, super weak front end suspension. when you lift them they become weaker and like to twist back and upward , so just be carefull when offroading the cart, other then that, the rear end's on this is a highly saught after item and the motor is a 295cc, which like i said will outrun my brothers work horse. top speed where about the same but starting off i can pull away 5-6 carts from him every time. i probably have one of the fastest carts around the area's i drive it and can climb every hill ive tossed it to. so bad that coming down ive had the breaks locked up according to the parking break, but it was still "rolling" down the hill and wasnt slowing down LOL..... |
