Default yamaha G2 alternator question

Hey guys i think its a G2 yamaha ? My generator went bad and i had a unknown spare and it cranks over slow like battery is almost dead can that be because my generator is junk ???

And if so its it hard to build them ??

The gen is pretty easy to work on usually the brushes go out, also check the bearings try to get some grease into them if you can. Mark the end with brushes before you take it apart like any electric motor but they are usually keyed to only go together one way.

G2/9 pretty common to have issues with cables and clamps bad connections it could also be that or a really weak battery.

Not the battery i bought a brand new one and used thick copper wire for battery cables

I'll be doing it soon, bought new brushes for mine have to put them in. There are posts in yamaha about doing it. They were not that much <20 I think.

It can be normal for gas to come out carb with nothing on it. But it should turn over constantly. I would check the voltage coming out of the start solenoid, my best guess is the solenoid or brushes. Usually they get slow with bad brushes, solenoids usually quit or don't want to work until you try a couple times.

I'll try another solenoid, i did open up the starter generator and all but 1 was good and one was a hair shorter than the others
