What Model is my Cart?
I am currently a freshman at Juniata College and I work at the Technology Center at the college. We have a golf cart that we use to deliver paper to all of the buildings. It recently had trouble starting. Actually it won't start at all. All that happens is a tick from the solenoid. The battery is fairly new so I have a feeling that the solenoid is giving me trouble. The problem is I don't know what year or model the cart is to order a new one. All that i know is its a 4-stroke yamaha. One of the guys that works here said he thinks its a '94 but he was not sure. Is there a way that i could figure this out. Also is there a test that i could run on the solenoid before i order a new one. I did some research and found out that they are prone to failure so hopefully that is it. Sorry for the long post. Hope you can help.

i know you probably checked ,it but i would try cleaning the battery connections real good .no matter what they look like. that will also cause the ticking..

Thanks for all of the input. I did not have the right tools here on campus to clean the terminals, but i will try that, i found a tool kit in the tech center that has some stuff in it. Did not think of it at first because they looked good. Thanks again i will try to keep you updated.

I did find out that the cart is a 1999 Yamaha G16.
