Cart Width HELP !!
I am getting a 08 Precedent with standard tires.
I want to go with a lift kit and 10 inch rims with fat tires. I have a toyota tacoma. I want to be able to put the cart into the back of the truck. I am cutting out my wheel wells to do this. I don't want to cut them completely out just enough to fit a lifted cart. Question, are there rims that increase the overall width less than others. Offset ? or not Offset ? Has anyone else modified there truck to fit a golf cart ? |

Re: Cart Width HELP !!
I think you can build a ramp if needed to pop the front wheels up over the humps?

Re: Cart Width HELP !!
I would prefer not to do that, It would be easier to get in and out if there were no wheel wells. I figure I can always put the bed liner back in later if needed.
I want to cut out the wells and rivet or fasten metal to the floor of the bed. to keep water and rocks from kicking up. Don't know I need the clearance though. |

Steve
I hate trailers, I prefer not to go that route. Can the truck handle having a 1000 cart in the bed ? will it be to top heavy. I don't mind moving the truck I just to make sure its safe.. |

Re: Cart Width HELP !!
My stock Precedent is 93" long and 50" wide.
I took the liberty to look up your bed measurements and the width is 56.7 and the length is 73.5". You will have to leave the bed door open and you will not have a lot of clearance on the sides. Also, I foresee the possibility of accidents going up steep ramps and running into the side of the bed. If you manage to get the cart into the bed I would guess the load would not be a problem. I use a 6 x 12 cargo trailer to haul mine to and from the golf course, works awesome. I can hook up and load cart in just a few minutes, same with unloading. And you can leave the cart in the trailer for storage if you want. Just have to make sure door opening is high enough (if your cart has a roof), my opening is 72" high with a ramp style door. Good luck with whatever you decide |

Re: Cart Width HELP !!
I agree with most. I bought a 5x10' trailer for the cart for $850(new). Great investment. Cart goes in and out real easy and I use the trailer behind the cart, when needed for yard work. Once you cut the truck, resale value goes down.

Re: Cart Width HELP !!
Yeah I agree about the trailers, I got a 5X8 at Lowes for $600 new 3 years ago when I got my first cart. The size fits a golf cart perfectly. Also it is amazing how I survived without this thing because I have used it for many things other than just a golf cart!
