1985 EZGO 2pg No Spark
Guys new to the forum as far as posting but completed a complete engine rebuild and HEI upgrade using the info here. GREAT STUFF! Cart ran great for a while and last week i was riding it at the hunting camp which has some large hills, it was going with no problem had power etc. and the engine just quite firing. starter motor will turn the engine, engine has gas getting to it, engine has good compression, but i have lost fire some how. i have changed all the wires incase i had dead short, confirmed grounds are clean and tight, etc. i have put a new HEI module, coil, and pulsar on, i am at a lose not sure what else could be keeping me from getting fire. What am i missing any help would be appreciated.

I have tried new plug and new plug wire. i have put a meter on the coil and i am getting close to 12V at the coil when the motor is turning. but i cant get the plug to fire. when i put my meter on the plug wire or out put side of coils it shows close to 12V constant no pulse as i assume it should be pulsing. i have tried two plugs including the one that was in it when it stopped.

The very back has troubleshooting values for the pulsar, and coil. |

That was something I was curious about. Will the values be the same since I have up graded to the HEI ignition? Thanks for the manual didnt have it, I will cruse thru it and double check everything.

Besides checking the resistance of the pulsar, you want to check it for half a volt AC while spinning the engine.

Messed with it last night for a while. added ground wire from voltage regulator to HEI module nothing happened, plugged the old 12V coil that was on it when it went bad and got spark. still not sure what the problem was as i got stuck in the part replacement vortex. i am going to see if i can figure out what exactly failed so i can make sure to have a spare part in the cart in case it happens again. i am leaning towards the HEI module but it could have been the Pulsar but the reading on the old one was/is better than the new one.
