Default Free G9, But a Busted Engine

A G9 was dumped on a construction site I am working on and other than what appears to be a busted engine, it is intact. Coming from the world of Club Cars I know a clone engine swap takes a little work due to crank rotation issues, how readily does the Yamaha accept an engine swap/upgrade?

Heh heh heh, going from a 285cc to a 401cc "all Yamaha" would be quite a difference!

I have done similar swaps from G9 engine & G14 engine, to G22 357cc, but I fabricated everything myself.

OK, so there are good options. I am kind of in a place where I don't NEED any more projects, but I might tuck this one away and fettle with it after a while when I have some free time on a cold winter's night.

Step 1 was grabbing some take-off wheels from a local cart shop so I can roll the **** thing out of the front gate. First $20 already spent.

I've managed to locate what looks like almost all of the parts for this cart. Upon discovering it dumped on my site a few days ago, it was missing the rear bodywork and brake drums. However someone helpfully pointed to a ditch about 100yards away from our front gate where the bodywork was lying. No idea how it got there. For reasons which I cannot quite understand, the exhaust, carb, seat rails, belts and all the floor mats were removed but piled up next to the cart, and the engine had been unbolted from the frame. Also the fill plug on the rear diff is gone. The rear end as I said was missing until today, and the wheels and drums were gone. Wiring was unplugged in several places rather than cut, and the ignition wiring appears to be intact.
This wouldn't be the strangest thing that's ever been dumped on a jobsite, but probably one of the most useful.
