And btw, I agree that the carts are capable of much more. To go back to my original inquiry, why isn't my governor governing?

To restate someone else on this thread before...have you tried adjusting the cable under the starter/generator going to your governor? it is two 10mm nuts with a lot of adjustment...try giving it more or less thread and try speed again...adjust as needed for less speed while still being able to get cart turning over without moving when solenoid engages...

I think the biggest problem in The Villages with jacked up golf carts are on the multi modal paths. Besides the speeding issue the passing of other carts on blind curves, failing to yield to pedestrians and bicycles coming the other way. I'm actually surprised more incidents haven't happen. I think most of the deaths here have been golfs carts trying to beat a car across a street or bad judgement turning in front of a car. The car will win every time.
