Default Driven Clutch Spring Installation

I bought the driven clutch spring from Tom at cartpartsplus. The instructions discuss removing a snap ring. My clutch does not have this. It seems that there are two types of clutches. One has a snap ring. The other seems to be pressed on one end and has a large nut on the other. What do I do? Do I just remove the nut and proceed with the installtion of the spring. The nut is really tough to get off. I have not gotten it off yet. Anybody done this?

I got it. It is a different model clutch. You just have to get large Jam nut broken loose. This was tough because you can't put a vice on any parts of the clutch because you will damage it. After remove the jam nut, the clutch plate actually threads onto the spindle.

It was all worth it. I have the torque that I am looking for.
