Starter/Generator
I am new to your site so I apologize if this has been discussed and addressed already. I have tried looking and could not find the answer i'm looking for so here goes.... My ez go is about to get a new generator/starter put on by me in a few days. Question: How do you get the pully off the old one to put on the new one?
Thanks Shawn |

Re: Starter/Generator
You need to use an impact wrench to break the nut loose and the pulley should come off in your hand.
If you don't have a compressor and/or impact, take it to your local auto repair place and ask if they will change it out for you. should only be a couple of bucks if they charge you at all. Also, for future repairs with no compressor, Sears sells a pretty nice 110v electric 1/2" drive impact wrench. |

Re: Starter/Generator
I'd like to thank everyone for the help on my Starter questions. I do have another one tho. I apologize but I am used to the electric carts and this is my first 2 cycle one ever. After putting the starter/generator on, it runs great. What I am curious about is, is it normal for this thing to get hot while running it?(starter/generator) Mine is really warm...no problems with driving it tho atleast for the 30 minutes of wide open driving I did. I am just wondering if it is common to be hot and if not, what do i look at....Thank you.

Re: Starter/Generator
It normally gets warm but not as hot as the exhaust. Usually your wires will tell you if something is wrong as they should not be warm at all.
