Tach not working on Yamaha G22a
All
I have installed a Equus Tachometer 8068. It lights up goes through some type of calibration full scale then back to zero, but when I rev the motor I get nothing for RPM's. I have it set at the 500 rpm for a 1 cyl as the instructions state and I have flipped the inductor pick up on the spark plug wire, and still nothing. I could wire to the + side of the coil to see if that works but I don't know where its located. Can someone shed some light on what im doing wrong? |

Re: Tach not working on Yamaha G22a
Keep in mind that your cart gives one (1) spark per revolution (also a spark on the exhaust stroke), so the RPM setting might want to be different than what you set. Sounds like you have the inductive pick-up installed correctly on the spark plug wire and the 12 v. connected ok. I would explain the one (1) spark per revolution to Equus customer service and see what they say. Hope this helps. - RAY
