Re: considering big block engine swap
I had thought about that but the 86 is not lifted, and I like the way it handles, its kind of like the sports cart of my fleet plus I didnt want to put a pile of $ into an 86.

Re: considering big block engine swap
I would think the 86 would benefit the most valuewise from the big block update - also, if the 86 "handles" the best, that is the one I would want to be the quickest - just a thought!

Re: considering big block engine swap
I believe most of the kits say that a minimum of 3" lift is required. (of course, I was wrong once - that is why I'm on my second wife!!)

Re: considering big block engine swap
another thought would be to swap the whole rear engine/axle assemblies. they will bolt up the same. you will have to do a bit of modding the box with the starter silinoid in it. I was told once they can be changed but don't remember seing any pictures. that way you would have the newer beter stock engine in your older cart and the nice big block in your lifted ride.
if you put a bb kit in the newer cart forward and reverse are swapped. i would think with multiple carts that would be hard to get used to? once you get a big block, you will LOVE it!! |

Re: considering big block engine swap
Yeah I wasn't to keen on having the shifter reversed but switching the whole drive train is a GREAT idea! Sounds like a fun winter project...Let it snow
