Default Yamaha G1 2 Stroke Oil

I have read a few forum post and they say different things. Some say not to use water cooled 2 stroke oil and some say it does not matter. Most say to use Yamalube but that is a TCW3 and some forums say it requires a higher ash content like API-TC.

I don't know what oil is in it now so I will have to empty the tank; whill I need to try and empty the lines too to prevent the possible bad reaction between the two oils?

What type of 2 strok oil should I use?

Most of the 2-Stroke oils should be fine, remember that the carts turn alot less RPM than most 2-strokes do(which is why they are mixed so lean).Make sure the oil does say "Pre-Mix" if you are mixing instead of using the Oil-Injection.Injection-Only oils, won't lube properly in a Pre-Mix application. As long as the oil says "Air-Cooled"it will be fine as well.A Liquid-Cooled only oil will not lubricate and cool properly, resulting in engine damage.Hope this helps.
