Could be wrong, but I think float should be level with the mating surface of the bowl, when inverted. (lateral with the bowl surface).

I'm looking 4 the factory measurement. Perhaps around 15-18mm or something in that range, but I'm not too sure. I just sent out a new post discussing my fuel starvation problem and I went through a list of possibilities but still coming up empty.

So will it sit and idle at low speed. But will not run in the mid ranges?

If that is the case, then jet and emulsion tube is clogged up. Thats where I'd be looking.

And is the float chamber still full of gas when you pull the bowl off? This tells you the carb is getting gas, but carb can't deliver it in the upper ranges. (high speed circuit)

Yeah when I rev it up, it starts dying out pretty quick, although the gas line is full of gas. I hadn't removed the bowl when it conks out, that's a good idea. Yesterday when I tore down the carb it did have some gas in it and it was very clean. No obstructions what so ever. Went thru each jet and crevices completely. What was weird when I stripped it down, there wasn't a wire clip attached between the needle and the float. The original carb had it, but this one year old carb does not. I'm not sure if it's a revised Mukuni carb or not.
