Ill buy the tach then..... i plan to swap the motor out eventually....Might buy a brand new 350 from a friend...Not sure what the 290 is worth.... Dont see dumping 500-1000 on a 350...Ill check on the rev limiter.... How do you adjust the govenor?

did you unplug the rev limiter???
what kind of speed or you getting now??
that should have helped......greatly
you should be doin 18 to 20 mph now....

you're right I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a 350 motor when you can buy a 440 clone motor for the same money double your horse power.
if you look in the big block section deal finders a guy a in Vegas that sells clone motors you can set you up

Bought a speedo and im only gettin 16mph out of the 290....I would still buythe 350 if i can find someone to buy the 290 from me..... i dont know much about the clone motors or how to fab one in....sounds expensive... More homework to do i guess. The cart is just too slow.

16 mph with 22's and a zip tied governor spring doesn't sound right,
that sounds more like a stock governor setting with 22's...
I'd double check to see if the zip tie might have broke.

The Tie wrap keeps it from expanding all the way?? Hard to tell what is actually happening....Great picture though

BUT... if you tighten the zip down all of the way, you may be asking for trouble! (your engine will go... BOOM!)
