Just might have screwed up...
I made my own cables using 2/0 gauge welding cable and sledging on tinned copper lugs for all my high current connections. They look great and I haven't tested them yet but I was wondering if I used the wrong solder. This stuff may not be the best for electrical connections. Will it be okay or should I redo the lugs?
No mention of silver content, I got rosin core so I wouldn't have to mess with flux. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Re: Just might have screwed up...
It's listed as general electrical solder, so I'll say it should be fine. It melts at 460°F. It is soft so it is not meant for mechanical loads. That's the reason silver solder is mostly used for wires that may move around and get pulled on. If you have your batteries strapped down you shouldn't have any problems. I would use heavy shrink tube on the motor connections as it does move around under use!
