Default 1985 EZ GO Driven Clutch Spring

Hey - New here but searched and couldnt find anything on this -

I've got a 1985 Baby Blue Ez Go Gas cart that really pulls slow on any hills, or when starting out - once it gets moving, its fine.

I'm thinking I've got a sacked out secondary spring as I can move the shieves with very little effort.

I for the life of me cannot find a secondary spring for sale for that age of a cart - furthest back I can find is for an '89.

Thoughts? If anyone had the spec's for it, I can find/make one (snowmobile guy...)

They don't make the spring. Considering the age you might be better off buying new because the bushing is probably sloppy and the ramp shoes are wore. Check our sponsors. They range from $170-$200 new.

A new clutch and a full tank of gas will literaly double the value of my cart.

I'd be willing to try and either get one made up or find something that is close to the same thing and see if it works out - I'm assuming my spring is what is shot, I can move the shieves with zero effort. I'm going to pull it apart tonight and take a look.

Do they still make the clutch buttons?

I should also mention that I found this issue when I tried the shorter belt (HP3004) - had the problem where the belt was bottoming out and dragging down the motor - it ate the first belt up - pretty impressive...
