Default First Build, S1 and S2 Extremely Hot

Really hoping someone can help me out...

I have a 1995 Club Car DS 36v with controller, no resistor coils, no obc. I just replaced the solenoid, diode, resistor and put brand new batteries in it. I also just replaced all three micro switches at the f/n/r and the micro switch inside of the vglide.

First problem- When I turn the key and move the f/n/r lever either direction, the solenoid clicks. I thought it was only supposed to click when the gas pedal was pressed...

When pushing the accelerator, I hear the "whine" from the controller but the cart will not move.

Problem 2- With key on, lever to forward, and pedal depressed, the s1 and s2 cables and connections on the f/n/r are getting extremely hot. - all connections seem to be tight.

Pack is reading at 37.5v and I just want to go for my first ride! Hoping someone can help.

Thank you!

Double check the connections at the V-glide m/s. Wires should be on common (C) and normally closed (NC).

I can't address the second problem.

I appreciate the advice. I just double checked the connections, and even tried reversing the wires on the V Glide micro switch but nothing changed. I moved the common wire to the NO as well, which resulted in the solenoid not clicking.

I'm at a loss because I've tested the motor with a jump box and it seemed to work fine. I also don't want to spend the $ on a new f/n/r if it's a simple wiring issue. The fact that the orange and blue wire (s1 & s2) are getting extremely hot when the accelerator is pushed and the cart won't move concerns me.
