Question 1981 G1 Carb Change

Ok, this is a "will-it-work", or "don't-try-it", or just use some of the new parts on the old one ... question?

Background: I have been having some "small" problems with my G1 not wanting to run well. Oil seals changed, new air box sealed up, etc. It seemed to be the carb, so I bought an overhaul kit, and cleaned it up and replaced the seals and included parts. it's run ok since, but still not totally as desired. And I know it's 34 years old, but I'm a lot older and I still run pretty good.

Bought a new carb (CHEAP) last year off of Amazon, with hopes of doing some work this summer. It is a nice reproduced piece, and on first look is almost identical (please note ALMOST).

The pictures below show what I am working with. First pic shows a very good repro compared to the one currently installed. Second pic shows where the oil injection fitting is (missing on the repro). Third pic shows the small brass barb (for a tube) on the new one, compare to a plain straight unused brass tube on the old one. Fourth pic show the available pot metal inlet (just above the clutch belt) on new one but no similar inlet on the old one.

First can anyone tell me what I am working with? For all I know all of the previous owners of my G1 modified it and I don't even have the right carb now. (I won't tell you some of the "fabrication" stuff inside the old carb when I overhauled it )

Back to my three question ... can I make it work? Should I throw it away? Should I just take some of the new parts off, and put them on the old one?

Any and all input is welcome (to an extent ... I saw the "thanks for the help ... not" thread. Funny stuff)
