Re: EZ GO 350 amp controller upgrade for RXV
Fleet speed, mid acceleration, pretty tame except for "when you really need it". A little tuning of the "factory authorized" variety (using their built-in "presets") really wakes it up. A little tuning the way i can makes it into a beast.

Re: EZ GO 350 amp controller upgrade for RXV
Curtis programmer is easy to get, but not cheap..You already know i cant spill all my secrets.. If i only had "free access" to Yamahas new cart, i might have wood for "assembly line" stuff! (never seen anything as good as that is "from the factory"). Its a Toyota controller, not Curtis, locked up so far (been trying tricks on those too, i will follow with "what not to try" soon enough).

Keep your eyes out on ebay, be sure to get the "oem level" -4401 model (no lower numbers IE: -2201). Also FSIP, but thats "full blown retail price".

Re: EZ GO 350 amp controller upgrade for RXV
Are the 4401 programmers able to be updated if there is something new from factory (EZGO)? For instance if they came out with a freedom 3 update or something of this nature.

Re: EZ GO 350 amp controller upgrade for RXV
The handheld programmer only knows what the curtis controller tells it, thats why its compatible with so many different curtis models. Controller software updates are only done with the PC version as far as i know (thats how we did a brake program update on early curtis RXVs). The new "super-fancy" handheld with color screen ect. has a SD memory card slot for cloning and data logging, it may be possible to do updates with that handheld, but you would have to have a source for those files (they wont just be "handed out" to everyone). The "freedom mode enable" does not move to a new controller when a software clone is done anyway, so maybe of little value to get the "super fancy" new model. As far as i know, the only way to enable "freedom mode" on a fleet speed controller is the chip available only from ezgo (plug it in to diag port, turn key on, wait for beeps, turn key off, remove chip, Presto "freedom enable on"). I have access to both, and prefer the old one (maybe because i am very familiar with the menu layout in the old one, new one is totally different menu layout).
