Default Electrical fire

I am about to throw in the towel with this 82 G1. I spend more time working on this thing than using it. For some reason it started smoking by the battery so I flipped up the lid and all the wires were melting. Burned my hand disconnecting the battery and now most the cables are toast

The diagnosis is easy, you shorted out somewhere. The fix is tough, you need to find the short or your cart will keep catching on fire. That's tough with the melted wires especially considering that where the wires melted may not necessarily be where the short is.

It's painful but get a wiring diagram, find a starting point, and start inspecting your wiring, replacing the old grungy stuff along with way. Pay close attention to connection points and any wiring that is near moving parts. Eventually you'll get it.
