I have an electric that tops out at 38-40 but it's not lifted.

Im rethinking a lift. I can barely keep it stable at 40, 32mph is the max safe cruising speed.

I'd like to cruise at 30mph but I don't want the engine at its upper limits at that speed.

Well, the Yamaha high speed gears on the stock (tall tires) 10" wheel, goes about 26 with governor adjusted up.

Thanks for the advice! He hasn't made a decision yet, going to look at EZGO's next week. We'll see what happens.....

Ezgo gas doesn't hold a candle to a gas Yamaha. We are a dealer for both brands, and don't even carry the ezgo gas cart, just Yamaha for gas.

Could you explain a little about how to make a 2018 PTV go 26 mph. Just got one a week ago and would like some more top end.
TIA.

Look up Yamaha governor adjustment. It's the same as all the older Yamahas.

This is exactly true, I have a 2019 PTV, 3" lift, 20" tires, gov. adjusted all the way and I get right at 25.9 mph with just me in the cart.

Just how far can the governor be adjusted "up" without reving it too high and causing damage?
