Yamaha G1 'no spark'
Hello all,
Trying to restore ignition spark to a Yamaha G1 cart. Igntion coil specs as per the manual are primary coil resistance of 1 ohm, and secondary coil resistance of 5.9K ohm. After-market coil, specified for the G1, fitted, shows primary coil at 0.7 ohm and secondary coil at 2.7K ohm. A similar aftermarket coil produced identical results. Main switch is showing ~5 ohm's on some connections. Is this after-market coil incompatible with the CDI? Is the small resistance on the main switch a problem? Regards. |

Re: Yamaha G1 'no spark'
Your coil sounds like it is fine. Check resistance on the spark plug cap itself.
If that is fine, may be a CDI issue. |

Re: Yamaha G1 'no spark'
Yeah, assuming your cart's starter is turning then you are looking at cdi, coil, or wiring. Not much else it could be.
