Red face Yamaha Drive Clutch Lubrication

I read in one of the earlier post that to properly grease the primary clutch I should pull the cover off to ensure any excess grease gets cleaned ou. The problem I ran into is I can not get the drive belt off the clutches (arthritic hands aren't helping). Can anyone share any tips for taking the belt off as rolling it off the secondary clutch isn't working. Also if I can't get the drive belt off, can the primary clutch cover be taken off with the belt still on? Thanks for the help.

My manual states that you should put the shift knob in the Neutral position which I think allows you to turn the clutch wheel and roll off the belt...but I’m new so this isn’t gospel.

I found the post on BuggieGoneWild when doing a google search. It was from 2012 I think and didn't specify any particular clutch, just stated that if the clutch has a grease fitting you should limit the amount of grease you pump in and also to take the cover off to remove the old grease that got pushed out. Otherwise it said you run the risk of ruining your clutch over time.

So hence my question of if you can remove the clutch cover without first removing the drive belt. Any know if that is OK and won't screw up anything within the clutch?

Removing the cover won't "ruin it" by any means. Fortunately, it's not a "touched it, you ruined" design.
