Default EZGO 36 volt series motor won't run

I just purchased a non running EZGO Marathon series # A2697 serial # 996054. Previous owner tried to fix and quit . He replaced a 1204-027 controller with a 1206 controller and left off the A2 wire as the wiring diagram shows. He also replaced the Forward / Reverse switch and left some wires off. I think I have ID's the wires going to F/R switch and ,motor. I tested the motor by putting jumper between S1 & A2 abd hooked to 12 volt battery and it ran.
I can get the relay to click but no run. All the diagrams find are for model with ITS pedal box I have the 0 to 5K resistor also there is a extra resistor unhooked that work when in reverse. Any one have the correct wiring for my model. Also the key switch is connected straight to + 36 volts.

Here's a schematic for a Marathon controller cart with pot box throttle.

However, I've never heard of a Curtis 1206 (series drive) controller that will work with a pot-box (0-5k) throttle. EZGO introduced the 1206 in their series drive carts at the same time they introduced their ITS throttle system.

Drop an Alltrax S48400 controller in it and it'll work.
