Not sure how to set my meter for that.

Just so I am doing this correctly, i need to remove the black and white wire from the controller. put the probes on the wires. Do I need to push the peddle down and take a reading then?

Thanks for the help. I need this fixed and out of my garage before my wife kills me

OK, the readings are all over the place. without moving the peddle, the reading bounce around 8k, 20k, 32k, 9k, 12k..........with the peddle pressed all the way to the floor it seems to settle around 8k-9k.

that was exactly the reading we needed..... 8-9k is WAY out of range Most Pots can be adjusted BUT, adjusting them can be tricky and is more likely to frustrate the heck out of you.... The PB-16 Pot is reasonably priced at under $150 and takes just a few minutes to change out.

Finally back in town, and after talking to Scottyb, The pots is bad. My meter auto senses so when it read 32, it was 32 ohms. when it read 8 it was 8k ohms.
So I replaced the pots box with one I had, it seems to be working fine now. it is slower than I thought it should be. It is lifted with 22 inch tires and max speed is 10 mph.
