Golf cart solenoids are 100% duty cycle. If your solenoid is not 100 duty cycle it will not last. It will however "work". If the generator is producing to much voltage it will burn solenoids up no matter if its 100% duty cycle or not, if you don't have a resistor on some coils it will burn them up. Just because it's on a dirt track car doesn't mean squat. I've seen parts on those a salvage yard wouldn't take.

I agree with you on some dirt cars. This on the other hand was not one of those. Duty cycle just mean continuously being used unlike a started solenoid off of a car correct?
