vrunner. You should read the thread in the ( ez-go tech) section, called "shorter belts and 28 deg clutches". It's a little long but very informative and it might be a good place to start for more power.

I've been a motor head for years and still am ( YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MUCH POWER )

Thanks for the info!! I will most likely leave the stock motor in place for this season.

I did do the smaller belt mod and it seams to be good. I really haven't gotten on it yet. Should I be concerned about the clutches with this mod? I don't know what was done to the cart before me or how often it was used/abused. The top end of the motor was very clean when I did the valve adjustment. It appeared to be fairly well used based on the physical appearance when I bought it.

Not really, are you having a problem out of it?

I 2nd this. If your not having a problem, then leave it alone. I did the clutch ramp because mine was a little messed up and the parts were cheep for me. I had already replaced my worn belt with a heavy duty one, or I probably would have gone with the short belt.

No problem at this point. I drove it around for about 5 minutes after putting the belt on and it seemed fine. I just didn't want any surprises... I will give it a good run when I have it completed, hopefully next weekend.
