Default Re: YDRE 8:1 gear change

thread revival:

I have a 2005 G22A gas with the dana axle.

would the 8:1 gears be too tall for the stock gas motor? I know you can install torque spring for the CVT drive to increase torque but would that be sufficient to push the 8:1?

will be lifted with 22.5 tires and madjax 150s rear passenger setup.

if 8:1 also too tall for the gas motor to push will go with the 10:1 as suggested in this thread.

looking for top speed of 35 mph....

thanks

This thread (and the 10.5:1 gears) are referring to electric vehicles, does not apply to gas. And with your wheels & tires, 8:1 gears are gonna be a total dog with stock motor.

G19e is counter gear pressed onto the high speed gear
So I bought high speed gears for my Yamaha G19e cause the large gear had a flat spot and the 2nd gear that came with it looks like it goes directly above with the counter gear. my problem is how do I get the counter gear off or should I just put the old one back in that has the counter gear on there?

Those G19e gears arent gonna work in a dana gas axle . But, if you already know more about gas & electric dana axles than I do, you dont need my help.

I have a Yamaha G19e Electric 48v ... I bought gears for my specific cart. just not sure if I need to remove the counter gear from the other gear? not sure if this matters but the smaller new gear has 33 teeth and the old one has 31. Can I just put the old smaller gear back in ?

No, both must be swapped, or itll only last a few days. Sorry about the other thing, I thought we were back to putting electric HS gears in a gas axle.
