Drive Belt for a 84 Marathon
I just got a 1984 Marathon and am having problems with getting any power or speed in forward. Reverse seems to be better but still not great. A new clutch was installed before I got it but not a new belt. There seems to be quite a bit of play between the drive clutch sheaves and the belt. I measured 1 3/32" + between the sheaves at the clutch shaft and only 29/32" width on the inside of the belt. I'm guessing it's time for a new belt. The one that was on there is a E-Z Go Car 23557-G1 made by Dayco. The length is 44" measured along the outside. What belt do I need?

Re: Drive Belt for a 84 Marathon
If your looking for a shorter belt than that, you probably need to find a good parts store to look it up for you. I have no experience with those longer 2 stroke belts. someone may have posted it in the shorter belt thread in the tech section
