need help bringing 2009 48V G29 back to life...
Hello to all!
I have been reading through the forum for a while and finally needed some direct help so here goes my first post. I am trying to revive a 2009 Elevtric 48V G29 that was sitting in the yard for the past 4 years. purchased Brand New 12Volt batteries (x4) for the cart. put the batteries in and cart does not want to work. I wanted to start this thread so people could get a setp by step on how to get one of these G29 carts back to life again. Step 1: Brand New Batteries either make sure your battery bank is good or replace with new. Step 2: check switches this is where i need some help. I checked the 3 amp fuse in the wire harness and that is OK. when i switch from tow to run i hear the solenoid click, but, what can i do to check that the solenoid is ok at this point (with multimeter) before moving on to check the next thing in line? I know its a weird post because its a question but im trying to post it in HOW TO form so others can possibly benefit from reading the thread later. trying to keep it as simple as possibe so someone with 0 experience can troubleshoot and get this cart running again. thanks for any help. |

Re: need help bringing 2009 48V G29 back to life...
solenoid test:
when i turn the switch from tow to run i can hear the soleniod clicking. however when i push the cart backwards (run switch in forward position) i do NOT get a reverse buzzer sound. I got the cart to run today but intermittently only. now what happens is when i put the switch to reverse it takes 2-3 mins before the buzzer sounds and the soleniod clicks and i can use reverse, but, when i switch to forward the soleniod clicks over again and i can go forward but it only goes forward for 2-5 feet then dies and will not move. from there i switch back to reverse again takes 2-3 mins fo the soleniod to click and the buzzer to sound again and i can use reverse. reverse works as it should, but as i switch back to forward it will again only go forward for 2-5 feet then die out and will not move.. any advise on this situation? can i assume the soleniod is OK and the controller is going bad? is there any way to test the controller? What is the best way to test the stop switch and throttle position sensor with a multimeter? thanks to anyone for help in advance |

Wire harness problem, or failing controller are my thoughts.
