85 ezgo no power sounds funny headgasket?
I have a 1985 Ezgo gas no power , fuel ok spark ok I,m checking compression tonight

Has it ever been rebuilt? My 85 just got torn down this weekend. It was U G L Y. :) pictures are under EzGo Bore and Stroke post. Compression will tell ya.

compression 45psi ouch. possible head gasket? how hard is this to repair? does the engine have to come out?

Highly doubt head gasket. From the design, these heads clamp rather well. The head is held on with six bolts. That is awesome. I wish my chevy motor was! :) After looking at my piston, i suspect you have a ring/piston wear issue.

Can I hone the cylinder and replace the piston and rings or if there is a groove, bor and oversize this. Is the head gasket reuseable?

Depends on cylinder taper. Mine was WAY beyond spec. Like 3 thou on the 'good' side. It was a bore job or replace the jug. If it were almost round, maybe a piston & rings would have worked, but the bore itself was just too hosed.
Head gasket is a compression gasket. I wouldn't re-use it. |

i would just buy a top end set, cylinder,piston/rings and gaskets! cheaper in the end
