86 EZGO - no fire - just quit running
Good morning all -
Just bought this cart a couple weeks ago - ran great to start with. Drove one night on an extended ride and it just all of the sudden came to a screeching hault. Wouldn't start for a few minutes, but then started right up and we drove it a couple blocks home w/ no problem. Week later, my daughter was driving and it did something similar, except now it won't start at all. Battery was drained completely, so I charged that and tried again. It will turn over okay, but no fire whatsoever. During my inspection I did find that several of the posts on the starter/generator must have gotten extremely hot. My thoughts are bad coil, but could that cause all this? I don't really want to spend $100 on a coil if it isn't - any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Jay |

Re: 86 EZGO - no fire - just quit running
could be a bad coil or a voltage regulator.
