1996 G16 backfiring
This is my FIL's cart.
The throttle is VERY touchy. Can't really "ease" into it. The cart backfires pretty bad when coasting down a hill and you touch the throttle every time. The choke appears to be fully closing. Can anyone point me in the direction of some things to check and PICTURES would be VERY helpful. Whats the spark plug gap supposed to be? What's the valve's supposed to be adjusted to? Would either of these cause any of these problems? Thanks in advance. |

Spark plug: BPR2ES gap: .028-.031
Valves: .004 cold Usually backfiring is due to the throttle not closing all the way when you let off the gas pedal. I'd try adjusting the throttle cable (10mm). Especially if its very touchy like you state on takeoff. |
