Need to rebuild or replace engine in 91 CC DS
Hi. New to this forum and looking for info on whether to rebuild or replace the engine in a 91 CC DS. The engine is making a loud noise and smoking some. Know it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The body is in really good shape. I've never rebuilt a small engine, or any engine, but pretty handy at doing stuff. However, from what I've read on here, seems that replacing it may be better way to go. If so, what engine to get and from where? Or, best place to get a rebuild kit? And, any place I can find info how to do either one of these? Appreciate info on this. Thanks

Depending on your budget check out the big block kits from Cart Parts Plus or Vegas Carts sells a clone engine that would replace your stock engine pretty easily.

Re: Need to rebuild or replace engine in 91 CC DS
I am in the process of rebuilding one of those 341s. It is a simple motor but some parts are getting hard to find. The rebuild kits are 150 on ebay. That includes all the seals with piston. I think it was 600 for the crank and rod and pretty much everything in the crank case. I looked into the vegas motors and the complette kit was around 1200. not a bad price.

thanks for the replies. will check into those. It's actually my son's and his family's cart. Will have to see what they can spend on it. Know their budget is kind of tight too. I'm sure they want to go for the cheaper solution.
