Cart backfires.
My 92 cart is running very well at the moment but every now and again there is a slight backfire when starting. Should I be concerned?

Re: Cart backfires.
Thank you, I was wondering what could be the causes of it.

Re: Cart backfires.
I worked for the local golf course for 8 years after I retired, I found that most often to be the cause of starting spit-back through the carburetor. The valves on this engine need checking about every 90 or so days to optimize performance.
If it seems to want to back fire or run on after the throttle is closed, check to see if the butterfly is closing or sometimes the return spring is broken or damaged. These engines were not designed to idle in normal use. Hope this helps you. |
