I bought two new sensors for two same model golf carts with same issues and they both don't work so i think the same thing. unless i switch a new sensor one with a good golf cart i have to see if its the sensor.

1. Turn the key switch to the OFF position and place the Forward/Reverse switch in the NEUTRAL position.
2. With batteries connected, disconnect the three-pin connector at the motor speed sensor.
3. Check voltage at black/white wire:
3.1. Set a multimeter to 200 volts DC. Place the red (+) probe on the battery no. 1 positive post and
place the black (–) probe on the black/white wire terminal socket in the three-pin connector. The
voltage reading should be 48 to 50 volts (full battery voltage).
(GOOD)
3.2. If the reading is zero volts, check the continuity of the black/white wire from the 24-pin connector
at the speed controller to the three-pin connector at the motor speed sensor. If the continuity is correct,
replace the speed controller.

4. Check voltage at the red motor speed sensor wire:

4.1. With Tow/Run switch in the RUN position and using a multimeter set to 20 volts DC, place the black
(–) probe on the battery no. 8 negative post and place red (+) probe on red wire terminal socket in
three-pin connector. The voltage reading should be approximately 15-16 volts.(Was 0 volts)
4.2. If the voltage reading is zero volts, check the continuity of the red wire from the 24-pin connector
at the speed controller to the three-pin connector at the motor speed sensor. If the wire continuity
(their was CONTINUITY)
is correct, replace the speed controller.
4.3. If the reading is below 14 volts, replace the speed controller.
4.4. If the voltage reading is correct, proceed to the following step.

Need to replace the speed controller?

What is the continuity supposed to be?

continuity- a continuous or connected whole. just means the wires are good.

It says "if continuity is correct", so I was thinking there may be an exact ohms number.

Based off those tests and that procedure, your controller may need to be replaced...

Let's back up a few posts.... where did you buy the sensors and what color are the three wires on them? Red, black, and green. Or red, black, and blue?

What controller do you have? I thought the power for the speed sensor comes from the 6-pin connector on the IQPlus 500 amp controller.

It's an aftermarket sensor....... Factory sensors have red, black, and green wires. I'd bet that's the problem. As jakesnake said, LOTS of people have had problems with those aftermarket sensors right out of the bag.
