Default How to slow down an electric cart?

the campground I'm at has several rental electric golf carts. The speed limit is 6mph at the campground and the carts do the normal 14-15mph.

the weekenders that rent them tend to run them at full speed and the owner of the campground has to continually harp on them to slow down..

Is there an easy way to limit the speed on an electric cart to get it down to say 10mph max?

the carts appear to be both series and sepex versions..

You could always make a block to limit the pedal travel.

Just getting ready to type that.

Screw a block to the back of the accelerator pedal.

A block under the pedal works if the terrain is flat but, could be a problem for hilly terrain. New speed controls can limit top speed. Very effective on sepex and series carts. Contact me for bulk purchase.

Which direction you think the campground owner is going to go, the low cost block of wood or the more costly reprogram of the controller?

Actually any length of bolt can be attached to the end of the pedal with a nut on each side of the pedal so it will hit the floor and stop the pedal movement short of full throttle but, again this is not a good solution for hilly country as more amperage is needed to go uphill and thus more pedal stroke.

Reminds me of the scandal when one of the NASCAR teams (Toyota?) got caught speed limiting their pre-race car with flat-washers under the gas pedal...

Campground is flat so I will suggest the pedal limiting option for now...
