Re: 2001 ezgo 36v no solenoid click
Ok so I have completely rewired every wire on the carts system except the larger gauge power and grounds coming from controller and motor. I also replace solenoid, forward roller switch and pedal micro switch. the micro switch was fried so before when I turned ignition on it was automatically smoking the solenoid.
Now when key is on I see no smoke until I press the gas pedal once pressed solenoid starts to smoke. I don't see any wires rubbed bare and the diode side with line is on the positive terminal. Can someone please give me some more direction? |

Re: 2001 ezgo 36v no solenoid click
Post a pic of how your solenoid is wired. Something is backwards somewhere. It's grounding out when you press the pedal. You can remove the diode until you get it figured out. It could possible be bad causing the dead short.

Re: 2001 ezgo 36v no solenoid click
Removing diode fixed the shorting out issue. Finally this problem cart has a good working ignition system however it will still not move in forward or reverse.
So now solenoid is clicking and have no movement. |

Go back to post number 2, and follow the diagnostic check list. Also inspect the FNR for any burnt wires or lugs.

Re: 2001 ezgo 36v no solenoid click
while testing the high amperage circuit I found a broken cable goin to s2 of the motor from the fnr switch. Going to replace and see if it is that last problem.

Glad it was a simple cheap fix! Not a controller.
