Your feeding a 36v controller 50 volts?

What are your batteries?

I have 6, CR-235, 6 volt Crown Deep Cycle batteries.

The cart was running fine about two weeks ago and then it just shut down. My carts get run hard by my employees.

Something is wrong with your multimeter then. 36 volt batteries should never read as high as what you had posted. While charging they can peak at around 45, fully charged 38.2 half dead 36.3ish

What are you setting your multimeter to?

I did have my multimeter on the wrong setting. I just bought a new one and I had it on the wrong setting. These readings should make more sense. I tested the controller again and I got 23.6 on the battery side of the solenoid and 23.0 on the motor side of the solenoid. When I turned the cart on, put it in forward and pressed the gas pedal, it went down about 3 to 4 volts and then jumped right back to 23.6.

You have bad batteries.

Probe each battery individually, they all should be above 6 volts 6.37 is idea.
