Charger clicking - not needing a charge?
Played two rounds of golf - got home and plugged in the charger - it clicks but doesn't show a charge going in. Checked and each battery is 6.3+ an the pack is 38.+
is it possible it doesn't need to be charged and the charger is seeing that? Every other time it kicks on when I get it home and shows it needs some refill --- |

Re: Charger clicking - not needing a charge?
38volts + after 2 rounds of golf would indicate your meter reading might be questionable. Sounds like maybe your charger is having issues. I would start by checking the AC outlet the charger is plugged into. Your charger will click upon attaching to batteries even if not connected to AC. The breaker controlling your outlet may be tripped. Good luck - RAY

Beat me to it - Bigstik40 - pulled the charger apart and everything came out ok - checked the outlet and the GFCI was tripped - DUH...
On the bright side, gotta love a cheap fix |

Re: Charger clicking - not needing a charge?
I had 2 GFCI outlets trip as well, and nothing was plugged into them. I just happened to notice the button out on one bathroom outlet and decided to check the others in the kitchen and second bathroom. Both bathroom outlets had tripped. Nothing stays plugged in and I live alone so it's not like I have other people using these outlets.

Re: Charger clicking - not needing a charge?
Bob,
A lot of home builders "scrimp" by using the bathroom GFCI to feed/protect the outlets in garages and any "outdoor" outlets you may have around your house. It is very common to have ants, scorpions etc inside the outlet box. As the get "shocked", the GFCI does its job (seeing something getting shocked) and trips the button. Turns out that "exoskeletals " (bugs to your and me) are attracted to the low frequency (60 cycle) of house wiring.... cleaning them out, and a little ant killing granules inside the outlet box will fix that !!! |
