Default Admiral B2 speed sensor

I'm just installing a new Admiral B2 motor on a PDS and wondering if the speed sensor needs to be hooked up with my Alltrax XCT 400 controller? I've read where some don't need it but not sure on mine. Thanx

Yes, make sure you install the correct map and connect the speed sensor. The speed sensor must be connected or you will void your warranty, by over revving the motor on the downhill.

Thanks Scotty. Also I hope I have the right Map because your the one who just sent it to me a couple days ago when I purchased the motor from you. Hoping to get this thing back on the road tonight!

Scotty, maybee in future orders for people you could let them know if the speed sensor is needed and if so what 3 wires to hook up to what colors. I know some dont need it like Jonnie and also let them know to remove the Spline Bumber from the old motor! Just my 2 cents

The speed sensor information is on the install sheet I send with every controller.
"If aftermarket motor install simply splice Blk > Blk, Red > Red, White > Green with crimp connectors and seal connections with adhesive lined heat shrink. "

My apologies I didn't think to look there. I thought something would be in the box with the motor. Thanks for confirming.

Don't know where you got that tid-bit from.

Having the speed sensor connected was not an option with a DCX controller and I exploded my stock PDS motor, which in turn took out the DCX controller. An expensive lesson learned.

I also ran my XCT without a speed sensor for a couple days while I was trying to find the cable from my stock motor and found out my cart wasn't running anywhere near its known performance. The XCT-PDS uses speed sensor data as a contributing factor in the field mapping and the motor has far less torque and top speed without it connected.

Johnnie It was from me Googling trying to find the answer and came across one of your older posts about it where you didn't need it you thought. Sorry you had an expensive mistake! Thank you guys for all your help!
