Is Trojan still as good as ever?
I'm needing to decide if I want to replace my batteries with Trojan or Interstate. The local golf guy is saying that lots of people are requesting Interstate batteries this summer. I had planned on getting what I've heard were the best (Trojan), but now I'm considering Interstate. I've searched for opinions on the 2, but most of them are 5-7 years old. And even though they seemed to favor Trojans, I wasn't sure if the quality has maybe come down since then. Companies seem to wax and wane, and if Interstate is just as good, I can get them sooner.
Any ideas? Thanks! |

Re: Is Trojan still as good as ever?
Is Ford as good as Chevy...well BAD comparison, b/c they aren't...lol.
In my area, the Interstate were more expensive, which I thought they would be cheaper. I ended up buying 2 new Trojans when I converted to 48V and feel I made a good choice. "I don't think" manufacturers are sending out carts to courses with Interstate batteries, so I would stick with the Trojan if those are your two choices. |

I have no experience with Interstate GC batteries but I do know the Trojan is still a top of the line GC battery and so is Crown and US Battery.
You will have to wait for somebody who knows interstate to pipe up. |

That was my take from reading on here. I have 6 Crown and 2 Trojans.

Re: Is Trojan still as good as ever?
My golf cart guy (who I think is a very honest guy) said that the Interstate batteries he has have a higher something-or-other.......hahaha.......I'm ignorant here! ......something with the number 232, whereas the Trojan's T-105 model is 225. He also said the Interstate's had more lead in them.
Being ignorant about these things, I haven't a clue what this might mean. I just want the best possible batteries without breaking the bank. I want to make an educated decision, while being ignorant at the same time. haha I know that there may be more to quality than a few higher numbers and a little more lead. I appreciate your guidance! |
