Re: River bound
Sunelec.com is a good place to start. You will need a 48 volt charge controller to prevent batteries from over charging. I got mine at www.flexcharge.com. Don't know if they have 48 volt. You are 48 volt? My cart is a little top-heavy but I think a lift-kit will help. If you are 48 volt you will need 4 12 volt or 2 24 volt. Maybe you could find 48 volt. Keep me posted.

Re: River bound
Just a side-note. My project is experimental. I do alot of solar stuff so this was a natural. Some will say it won't work, of course it depends how much you use the cart. 200 watt-hours per mile is what my cart uses. The real proof is how many years the batteries will last. I am only at 2 and half years.

Segdoh 49: Is your beautiful limo a metal or plastic body? And is the cart retired from the USAF or are you?:

Fiberglass. I believe it was used on the flight line to take pilots out to the planes.
So its retired From the air force I was in the army. Didn't stay in long enough to retire. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk |

i've been contemplating building a solar roof... i figure i can fit around 400W in a 44" x 70" footprint if i build the panel myself. i was thinking fiberglass over foamcore with a lexan top to keep the weight down. very cool to hear you have actually done it! nice limo segdoh49! sorry for the thread jack! -sj |
