In the Market: New 48v Charger
I'm looking for a new charger with a higher amp rating that the DPI - I have one now that works... but I'm not thrilled with it.
I am running 48v in my PDS TXT... Ideally I would like to find something in the 20+ amp range. Any ideas? Buggies has one made by Eagle I think but it doesn't list the amp rating... What is everyone using for the TXT 48v conversion? |

Re: In the Market: New 48v Charger
Everyone is using the DPI 17amp 48v charger with good results.
Manufactures suggest the max bulk charge rate not exceed 10% of the battery's capacity. Bulk charge is the initial input which usually lasts from 20-40 minutes of the 5-8 hour charge cycle. After than the charge rate decreases. This is the same with all golf cart chargers. While a 20 amp charger would be fine for large 200-225 AH 6v batteries, it is too much amperage for smaller 180 6v and all 8v batteries listing 190 or less AH rating. I hope this helps. |

Re: In the Market: New 48v Charger
Thanks - I ordered the Schumacher... I'll be getting rid of my DPI 48v as well as a couple of my older Powerwise 36v chargers... time to clean up the shop!
