Default Just picked up 96 ezgo txt

Guy's, I bought a project cart. It is a 96 TXT freedom series. It has been sitting for a year or two. Last owner said it "shorted out" and caught fire while driving it on his property. It looks like the wiring at the F/R switch melted. His property is full of hilly terrain. I paid $350.00 for it and got the charger too. I'm going to re-wire it first, and get some batteries to start testing the controller. What are the chances that the controller and motor are still good. Has anyone had this happen? Any thought on how to proceed? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Big! Hopefully the damage you reported is local to the F-N-R and it's micro switches. Some pictures might help, also get your model numbers posted and download your manuals thru the stickies posted at the top of this forum. $350 isn't bad with the charger as long as your not replacing more than the F-N-R, wires and a few small things.

Good luck bud keep us informed.
