Default Is 10amp enough?

Fixin' to put a voltage reducer on my cart to run the radio. Is a 10 amp reducer enough?

Thanks,
Ronnie

You need to check the specs on the radio. If it's not one with real high power amps, you should be ok. But it you want to add lights, 10 amps won't cut it.

A typical ezgo light kit will pull around 6.5 amps. A simple stereo with 2-4 speakers and no amp will only pull 1 amp or so. You can get by with a 10 amp converter but that's the minimum.

My fog lights are 55 watts each, so that's nearly 10 amps. My dome light and tail lights are LED, so they don't pull too much. My wig-wags, siren, horn, stereo, ExRay, and power adapter necessitated a 30 amp reducer.
