Default 2010 TXTE 48V Lithium Battery Conversion Issues

My 6 x 8v acid batteries crapped out on me and I decided to modify to a Lithium Battery.

Got this battery from LiTime
LiTime 48V 60Ah Lithium Golf Cart Battery, 120A BMS, 3072Wh Energy (can't post link as I'm new member)

Hooked up all the + to + and - to -. The only think I didn't hook up was the old battery charger port (red, black, grey cables) because I'm not using the old charger

Turn the key and soundbar, headlights, and battery meter work. But when I hit the gas, nothing. When I hit the reverse switch in dash, no buzz

Not super technical, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, are you saying from the charger port put the black to - and the red to +? What about the 3rd grey wire?

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I'll def buy you a beer!

Yes black -, red +.

Did you cut the 3rd wire from the harness? Or does it have a ring terminal on it?

The factory charge port provides an interlock signal to the controller, with it disconnected, the controller thinks the charger is plugged in and blocks drive.

Thankfully didn't cut any wires from the factory installed battery charger port. Just put the red on + from it and the black on - and it works great!

Wow - Lithium is such an upgrade. We have a hill to the marina and the cart flies.

Looks like I'm in business, thanks so much for the quick reply. Hope this post helps others too!

Tell me where to send beer

Someone probably bypassed/jumped the reed switch in the original charge port.

I have the same cart and am having the same sort of problems. We inherited it from my wife’s dad and I have no idea what all he had done for modifications. He had deep cell batteries in it and it would only run for a couple of miles then start to chug like the batteries were dying. I purchased a single 48v lifepo4 battery for it with proper charger. The charger shows that the battery is fully charged, but when I hook everything up it does absolutely nothing. When testing voltage with my multimeter it only shows 21v with tow switch on and 12v with the switch in run. I am at a loss in where to look next. Not sure if I got a bad battery or if there may be an issue with the motor controller.

Probably going to have better luck getting answers starting your own thread.

But I would check your pack voltage with a meter and then verify that you have bypassed the charging interlock.

If it has Bluetooth or an LCD readout, check to see if both the charge and discharge are selected. My lifepo4 did not respond till I selected the discharge.
