Getting the correct belt
Hey all, was browsing thru the tech section on the installing of a smaller belt for better performance. Went to check my cart (02 TXT #1405065, with the Robin engine) Found the belt on mine is tagged as follows:
EZ GO CAR 72054G01 CARLISLE 1006 362 Would the recommended EZGO part# 22337-G1 or Napa # NBH6098 still be the correct 1" shorter belt????? Probably thinking too much but I think the Napa said it was 1026 length, which would be larger then the 1006, which I'm guessing is the length on the belt on there now. Better to ask first the experts, then to suffer the consequences. thanks, Brad |

Re: Getting the correct belt
Don’t know if this helps,
But I tried a slightly smaller belt on my work horse and developed a real hard take off So I went back to OEM part. |

Re: Getting the correct belt
FYI, The EZGO part no. 22337G1 has changed. It is now 27077G02. This belt is 1" shorter than stock. Its tight to get around the pulleys but it works. You will get more punch at the bottom. My throttle response was almost jerky. There only about $30-35.
This should work on all the TXT's. tony |

Re: Getting the correct belt
When/if this starts happening you can flip the belt around and that'll make it stop doing that most of the time. I have extra belts I'll swap every now and then when they start grabbing like that. I've had it happen on carts with stock belts also so it's not a shorter belt issue.. The shorter belts make it seem harder cause of the gearing change.

Re: Getting the correct belt
just because they have used the shorter belt doesnt mean it works
we used a 9 hp 23" tall tires 1000 ft runs with both on flat and hilly test grounds speed didny change times was not much different |

Re: Getting the correct belt
Using a shorter belt on a cvt changes the starting gearing ratio of that system. your saying it doesn't make any difference but physics would differ with you.
The mod works great. perhaps your methods of testing are skewed |
