Default Axle bearing replacement

Getting ready to start attempting to replace the right rear axle housing bearing on a 2008 G29. Do I need any special tools and can this be done with the housing still in the cart.? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Straight forward if you have a really good set of snap ring pliers.

I’m at the point of trying to get the bearing out. I have it soaked with PB blaster but I think it may be seized to the housing or axle and I’m having a hell of a time finding a puller that will work. My only other option may be heat or hammer and chisel to bring it out in pieces.

I replaced both sides about 2 years ago. I just remember yanking them out.

After snap ring is removed and some PB blaster, reinstall the hub, hit the hub with a hammer to help pull it out.

Thanks guys it’s done. The bearing was so bad the inside stayed on the axle and the outside stayed in the housing. Had to use a grinder on the half on the axle and a slide hammer on the other half. It’s up and running with no noise or vibrations which make for a happy mother in law. It’s nice she pays me in beer
